Cupboards...Wash Tubs....Iron Fragments...Garden Furniture...Cupolas...Big Spiders...Darling...Field Mouse...Huge Cast Iron Farm Sink...and...Jesus...

Oh...my.....where do I  begin.... This day didn't turn out...anything...like I had planned...

The Only thing I had planned was to meet with my Sweet...Light Girl.. Julie...who was bringing me a 5 foot tall Crucifix...from a long...gone... Church...near Cascade, Iowa....

and...to Open....The Rabbit Hole..

As I was brushing my hair...early this morn...the phone rang...it was John...one of our neighbors, had some things he wanted me to look at.... so...I quickly got pulled together...so I could run there.... before I opened...

I found some fun stuff... {a Darling...Garden Settee...a Huge...Old...Cast Iron Farm House Sink...with a Tall Back Splash...and Drainboard! and...a Sweet...Old Wheelbarrow.... {those images, tomorrow..}

Came home...started getting Wind Fall damages...picked up...and the phone rang... it was a friend...from about 45 minutes South...that was cleaning out her parent's Farm.... she was having a Sale...had JUST...put signs up.... I Flew...

Gave John...the money....for Julie... and Flew!

Oh My!

She had Tons of Great Stuff!

{she said...after I loaded... she never dreamt... I'd get it all on the Ford.... : ) }

After I shopped the garage...she asked if I'd like to dig in the barn.... : ) ....

Oh...My....

We unearthed...some Grrrreat Treasures!

I found some....Gnarly...Old Stuff!

John helped me unload....when I got home...

as he picked up an old nail keg...a Big Fat Field Mouse...Jumped Out!!!!

Poor Little Guy!

He must have had quite a ride!

Then...as I unloaded a stack of old drawers.....I saw...a Huge Spider...must have been the size of a Silver Dollar!... We found Safe Places...for both of them....

Then...Friends...stopped by...and also...loved some of the treasures....got them...loaded...and...made my delivery...

Whew...

It's Been...a Long...Long...Day!

I told my friend...at the Barn...as I was digging...and rooting... " If I should die...This Very Moment...it would be... The Perfect Way...to Go Out..." I hope... when it's my...Time.... I go out...Digging Through...an....Old...Iowa...Barn...What a Way...to Go!

OPEN TODAY!!! 10 - 5 !!! Closed Saturday and Sunday! Botanic Garden Show!

Brought this Little Darling Home...from my Trip...South...to Pegadoo's! It's one of the Sweetest Little Bird Cages.....I have ever had....

I'm heading down the rabbit hole...today! I didn't set foot outside yesterday! WIND!!! Audrey {Sweet Cheeks Tasty Treats} popped by the shop...and said..I had a lot of stuff down.... I didn't want to see it...The wind...was sustaining...all day... I'll pick up the debris...today....

I have lots of new arrivals coming in..today..and a Wardrobe, to clean out...and deliver...this eve...

I popped the images of the Green House Survivors.... The Clematis...survived in a pot...all Winter...and has started to bloom...BEAUTIFUL!!!

Allyson and I are heading to Chicago, on Saturday....to see the Chicago Botanic Garden Antique Fair....{check out my 'Calender of Events'} If...You have never been...get a group together...and GO!

Several of my Sweetest Friends are Showing there.... It Is Amazing! I Always come Home...INSPIRED!!! {and have some great...unusual treasures...in tow!}

Michael and Ed  from Brenham, TX.{ www.leftoversantiques.net } will be set up...with Something...For Everyone! as will Scarlett.... from Franklin, TN.  { www.scarlettscales.blogspot.com } There will be Treasures...from all over the United States...and Europe.... Wow...

No one... works harder...at their Passion....for Old Things...than these two...

I met Daryl at an Auction...over 20 years ago... and we hit it off...immediately...He reminded me so much, of 'Jack Tripper' {John Ritter}...in 'Three's Company'... Funny....agile...and Sharp as a Tack! He always made me Laugh!

and...Colleen... well...she and I have travelled Many...many..miles together...we've done Shows, together...and has only been a phone call away...if I need a helping hand...
{The Historic 'Star Bar and Livery'...was once owned by Colleen's Family...They have deep roots, here in Fairfax! Good People!}

The two of them have put together...a Wonderful Antiquing Map...for the Shops 45 minutes radius of Cedar Rapids....and advertising The Fourth of July Shows in Amana..Solon...
and Mt. Vernon!

This is something we have needed....forever...!

I had always wanted to do it...but....not enough time in a Day!

I teared up...when I saw this...mounted high...on a tree...at the Entrance to the Walkway...to their Door... The Love...Michael and Peg Share...is Everywhere...Peg says...Michael Built...a Wonderful Home...for Her...and Peg...has Made...a Beautiful Home....For Michael.... an Amazing...Love Story...

Everywhere I turned....there was something...beautiful...it was like walking through...one of Peg's Amazing....Gourds...

Their Pond...is stocked with all sorts of fish...it's right off their Porch...and...is Amazing....

The vegetation....is Incredible... Lush...and Alive....

Peg was so frustrated...when they started working on the Gardens....so many of her plants from Iowa won't grow there...oh...but what does....is Amazing....

The Details...Details...Details....All...the  Personal...Peggy....Touches... wow...

Mike's room...{Barb's slice of Heaven...when I was there...} This Old Rope  Bed...was Like Sleeping on a Cloud! Mike's room is filled with wonderful Vintage Fishing...Gear... and Loads of Family Photo's.... There are sliding doors...that lead out to an enclosed porch....that overlooks the Pond....Peaceful.....It was Wonderful...waking up..to that Soulful View...

Mike's Bathroom.... it's Lovely... all hand painted... all the little Squares...are reminiscent of the details...on Peg's Gourds... in three colors...all so precisely laid out.... Details...Details....

This is Peg's Workroom....it's on the Loft...they have 25 foot ceilings.... Peg works at this table, she got from me...years ago.... it's Perfect...

This is also her work area...and... this is a cupboard, John resurfaced for Peg, I had it for years...in the shop...it was an UGLY Color... John did a Great Job on it....and It's Perfect...for the Gourds...waiting patiently......for Peg's Amazing Hands...to Breathe Life...and Beauty into them....

The West Wall... Peg gathered all sorts of Wonderful...Fishing Artifacts...for this Incredible....Wall... oh my...

I always like to scope out....cool restaurants... as I told Mike...I work hard...and this is a 'perk'.... I need to be kind..to myself...Enjoying...Great Service...Fresh...Food... and Beauty...mean so much...to my tired soul...it's a Treat.... an...Adventure...
I spied this one..." The Pier"...in Quincy...as we crossed the River... while running around... It was Wonderful...The view...was incredible....over the Mississippi...The Food...was Over the Top....and...nothing was over 10.00.... {Folks will go to a fast food restaurant....thinking they can't afford..a Great Place Like This!!!! REALLY!!!??? Wow... take a chance...you may be very pleasantly...surprised!
{ The waiter joked...while asking if we'd like coffee...tea...or...a Martini...to drink...with our lunch...{ ha...ha... } I think...I shocked him...when I said...ahhh...yep...I'll have a Martini! { oh my...it was smoothe...very...smoothe!} : )

This Cake...was OVER THE TOP!!!! Peg was too full...to eat more than a bite...so....I forced myself...to eat it... {sigh...} We had a Wonderful Time.... but....it would have been just as wonderful...sitting...at a Bus Stop...It's all about the Moments....we had Many...Great Moments....
I Can't Thank...Michael...and Pegadoo...enough...for having me.... I was so Inspired... and...Love..them Both...so..

Brought a Dandy Load Home...from Illinois and Missouri!

I was perfectly content...to simply...rest at Mike and Peg's...but...they insisted on doing some Junkin'....

I think...Peg needed a little time...away from home....

So we took in the sights...

I so enjoyed our visit...

Their Home...{as Mike refers to it...{Peggy's Ponderosa! } Peg...rolls her eyes....Too Funny!}

I will be writing and showing you many images..of our time...together...at Their...Amazing...Amazing....Sanctuary....

This should be in a Magazine...or have an Entire Book...on the Decorating....and Beautiful...Gardens....Breathtaking...what a Lovely...Soulful..Sanctuary....

I had to leave...last night....when Peg and I got home...the weather was reported to get ugly.... Huge...Rain...Hail...and Flash Flooding... so...decided...late last night...to 'bug out'....and head for Iowa....

Michael brewed me some strong coffee.... and we said our 'good byes''....

I could have stayed...forever....

We took in the sights.... and had a Great Lunch...

Great News!

Polly is back home....

Thanks...so much....to Dr. Meister....for getting my Polly...right in....

Polly has cysts... they weren't infected...and he says they can flare up...in no time...and be gone as quickly....

They are Not...Cancer...

Oh my....

I tired to buy them Lunch...at the Dr.'s office...but they wouldn't let me...

I gotta tell ya...

They made my day...

I know there will be a time...when Polly and I part...

but... I don't think I could handle it... today....

so glad....

it was Great News....
