Another 'Wink'.
Had to check out Richard's Garden, yesterday.
It's Growin' like Crazy!!
After capturing a few images, in the detached Workshop, noticed an unusual plant that's in Richard's back yard.
Asked him about it, when I went to the house.
Richard knew Exactly which plant I was inquiring about.
He smiled, and said "come on, I've got to show you something."
Followed Richard, back to the plant.
Richard said he couldn't remember it's name, but said he'd dug a little root of it from a ditch, near Palo, Iowa... Long, ago.
He said it's really wonderful for the birds, and bees. It holds water at the base of each leaf cluster, even in the drought years
it offers water for the birds, butterflies, and bees.
Richard said the plant gets beautiful, big... flowers on it, that the bee's and butterflies Love!!
Pulled out my Android, as we were admiring the plant, told Richard we'd ask our Friend, Google, the name of the plant.
{It's amazing what these phones can do.}
It's a 'Cup-plant'.
Indeed!!
Read up on it, it's a native Prairie plant.
Sadly, Richard said, around here, anymore, you don't see them like years ago. They get Sprayed Away.
How sad, indeed.
Reminds me of what Peg always said...
"Humans are the only species on the planet that sh!t in their own nests."
That's a fact.
Richard said we'll have to dig up a little of it's root, for me to take home.
That would be great.
We'll be working on this Sale, daily.
Much... to get through.
Stay Tuned!!
Love to Ya...
Prayers for All.
Barb C.
