Daughter, Liz's Home...and Family...

This is the Living/Dining room...The Table...is an 1890's Round Oak... that has been cut in half...with a full base...{the top, re centered....on the base...} it was pink...then white....now...Black...It works great for them...They use a mid 1800's Blanket Chest...for a Coffee Table...and storage....everything...is functional...and...most everything is Vintage...
 The South wall, is all windows... in the Dining...and Bedroom...but...up high...Very Happy...and Bright!
Since I didn't go see Peg...{She actually has eaten a little today!!! YAY!!! {She doesn't want to make me come up there!} I grocery shopped...and went to see Liz...and her Children...{Nick was at work...} She had been wanting me to come see her new carpet... so I popped in quick.... The Little House...is Adorable...only 440 square feet, on the main floor...but it has a full basement... It's actually...very spacious...considering...there is Nick...Liz....Miss.Scarlett...and two large Hounds...one, around 120 pounds! Yet...everything is in it's place...and it's Darling...They have done a nice job....It's Very Sweet!
The Little House, was built in 1920, is Stucco, on the exterior...with sweet dormers.....It's lath and plaster, on the inside, with 9 foot ceilings...which makes it feel much bigger....There is a large, full bath...with the washer and dryer....and Big Tub...downstairs, there is a bedroom, and shower...with a lot of open space....Liz and Nick have their gym equipment, and a work room, for Nick's artwork...and Liz's sewing area....
The house is situated on a Lovely Corner Lot...in a Nice area...in an old Czech part of town....
This is leading to the Bedroom...and bathroom...Liz bought this cool old piece...from our Southern Iowa Friends....and had given up on it....it wasn't working for her...so....she was going to sell it.... unless... she, said... she could paint it...{ I have a problem with painting original...old surfaces...} it would work...I really liked it... when it was old, red...but... I told her, if that made the difference, she should do it... The storage is a must...and it works so good...for so many things...
This is the Kitchen...Tall cupboards...and simple... I gave her the mid 1800's Jelly Cupboard...when she moved in, several years ago... she has moved it from room to room....holding everything, from books, to clothing...to kitchen stuff... They have a flat screen t.v. mounted, high...in a corner...of the Dining Room...and the other gadgets...on the old Jelly Cupboard... They use a lap top...and also use the t.v. as a monitor, for movies...it's a very functional...little house...
Liz, like her Mama...uses a lot of Cast Iron Cookware... Nick is a Chef....they both know how Great...the Old Cast Iron is...for Everything!
This is Bennie....Liz rescued him from the shelter...after Maggie Passed away... He is a Happy...Happy Boy...and Loves...Miss Scarlett...he loves...Everyone....{ I caught him...just as he was shaking his head...what a Goof Ball!}
This is Pierre....{this image is so fitting...and totally reflects his personality...} A Very...Good Boy...but...a bit of a Snoot...{You know how Frenchmen can be...}
Liz...and Miss Scarlett.... Good Girls....
Miss Scarlett....with her Brand New Pearls....wow...her teeth have come in...so fast! She is Fascinated...by Peg's Beautiful Gourds...she can't say 'gourd'... but if you ask her where 'Peg'...is   she looks right at them...and she can almost  say "Peg"....she has the 'Ph'...sound goin on! She also can say...Bennie... and Balloon...and...she called the other day...and said..the most perfect "Hi"...on my machine... oh my....
John just told me, Justin 'J' was here today...all day... {Katie has jury duty} I asked if he took any pictures???? no.... Grrrr....
It was a Good day... all around...
Hope yours was...too...
Love to ya!
