'Life'...
Indeed.
Busy Day....
kinda.
; )
Spent several hours early, this day...
'Puttin' out Fires'.
; )
{not literally.}
Hahahahaha!!!
Life Story... it seems.
: )
Friends, and Family... who know a bit about the way I was 'raised'
'Grew Up' with Dad...
'had'... 'have',
NO IDEA How Lost I'd have been Throughout my Entire Life,
to
This Very Day....
had
Dad 'Raised' me, like they 'thought' he should've.
Family... back in the day, would get on Dad,
about the responsibilities he gave me at a very young age.
Leaving me at Farm Auctions, from the time I was 7... to do his bidding.
Teaching me how to drive a Truck, Tractor... also, when I was 7.
I LOVED Every Moment of It.
{We Had So Much Fun!!}
and...
Learned So Much.
<3
How to Deal with People, most all walks of life, and many 'situations'.
I've written about this before, but... do think of it often.
When I was about 14/15, was staying with Family, for a Summer.
One of my Niece's {same age as me} had taken a message from a man who lived near where I'd rented pasture for about 15 head of Horses, Ponies... and Mules.
{He also had Horses.}
My Niece said the caller sounded angry, and wanted me to call him right away, as he was holding a pair of Mules that had jumped the fence, got into his barn... and wreaked havoc.
My Niece, would kinda say things, that... kinda got under my skin... just... a little bit.
About how I had Horses, and got to drive... and go to auctions.
What she didn't see, was the work.
Nor, did she understand, until that day... what comes with Fence Creeping Livestock.
; )
I looked at my Niece, and said... "I tell ya what, you return the call to the man, concerning The Mules, pretend you're me, reassure him, you'll be right there, to gather them up... and pay for any damages to his property, then... tell me how easy my life is."
My Niece got a big grin on her face... dialed the man up.
She started out pretty good, but... then, the man Laid In To Her!!
Pretty soon, her tears were flowing.
: (
I knew that man... I'd known him, and his Family... since I was little. Took the phone from my Niece's hand, she was so choked up by his cruel words, she couldn't speak.
I'm very certain she'd Never been spoken to, that way... in her life.
: (
I easily... found the words.
: )
Went on...
calmly...
reassured the man, I'd be there... to retrieve The Mules within the hour,
told him to have a bill in hand,
for the damages.
{the 'Damages' amounted to some Horse Sweet Treats, The Mules had eaten.}
The man was waiting for me... in his Barn, where he had The Mules in 'Jail'.
: )
He was a very different 'man' face to face.
He handed me the bill. I handed him the money.
Snapped lead ropes on The Mules, and Home... we went.
I'm guessing, that man felt pretty ashamed of his earlier actions.
They often do, after they get so crazy.
{I've lost my temper... a time or two, and... most always regret it. }
I... think, my Niece thought 'better' of my lifestyle, after that.
: )
Dad, taught me how to 'Deal' with people like that.
Many times, early on... by 'Example'.
Later, when I was handling... so much, working with Dad, often, leaned on Dad's 'Example'.
He'd get into some Tight Spots... for Sure!!
" FIRE!!"
; )
Hahahahaha!!
I... was 'The Fireman' for Dad.
; )
<3
What a Character.
; )
Grateful Every Single Day...
Marion W. Conner Sr.
was
My Dad.
; )
There's a little snippet of Jack's Mosaic Bench.
<3
We did Concrete Walls, and... Rolled Stone trim, in the Shower Room.
Old, Old... Sandstone Columns, flank the entry.

I remember that Auction.
It was a Hot... Hot... Day!!
