I'm the Winner! Oh dear... This is an early Amana Tin Cookie, or Biscuit Cutter... hand made...{very...very cool...and BIG!} {The Amana folks, lived in 7 villages, on the Iowa River...in the mid 1800's thru the early '30's... They were a Communal Society...kind of like the Shakers... I paid 90.00 for this cutter, at the auction, Saturday... I'll be pricing it, for Nashville.... and... if I can make enough, to buy my dinner... I'll be good... if not... well... I'll enjoy a rare find... for a while....
{It's a Heart for Pete's sake.... yeah... yeah...I know I am sucking fumes... financially...my banker wasn't at the auction....oh dear...}
Hmmm...I just had a thought... I should make cookies with this old darling... They would be very...very cool... and... folks could get one, for a donation, to the Crazy Cookie Cutter Fund!!!{ the man standing next to me, at the auction, thought I had totally lost my mind... when I bought this....oh dear...the expression on his face...was...priceless...} I'll bet this old Heart, would love a gentle, warm bath... then a little grease... Then...start Cutting Out, one of a kind, From 'Old' Amana... Heart Cookies! I'm gonna do it!...{oh my gosh... wouldn't the cookies be Perfect 'Simply Iowa', 'Heart of Country' treats for my Awesome Customers!!!} The Gears are Turnin' now, Baby... I'll use a Sugar Cookie Recipe from the same period, as the Cutter... How Cool Is That!!!!!!!! {sorry...now I can't sell it... I have to try this, first... Told ya... I, am Crazy...no wonder the folks, at the Bank, just smile, and nod, when I come in...oh dear....}I'll even be baking them, in an oven, that is well over a hundred years old... oh dear... a temperamental, hundred, plus... years... old... oven... well... they will be, what they will be... Interesting...
O.M.G. Love this (as in L-O-V-E!!!) I hope you post pictures of your cookies ;)
