Hearts...and Old Cupboards....

I'm...slippin'...
I didn't do a thing...yesterday... was down for the count... simply...couldn't bring myself...to go anywhere....I feel...like I have the Flu... so... I have a mega full plate...today...
I hadn't been anywhere to take any images... so... stepped out...into the Porch...this Morn...and captured this...of an Old Cupboard...that has stood there...for years...waiting...so patiently...for me...to show it some attention...
I keep...hurriedly...tossing things in it...that I want to keep....as I sort...while unloading....or...during a Sale...while going through things...
It holds everything...from Bird's Nests...coin silver...jewelry boxes...an old clock...old lace fragments...tinware...cookie cutters...to my Dad's Obituary....
I remember the day I bought it... 20 years ago....or better...
It was an Estate Auction...in Blairstown, Iowa...
I saw, what looked like a Jelly Cupboard...standing behind the Old House... in line...with all of the other furniture the Auctioneer had pulled from the old stone basement.... I loved it... thought to myself... I was going to try and get it...
Then...as I walked on down the line... and spotted a little Cupboard, with glass doors....and no bottom in it...
It struck me... right away... that little Cupboard...was the top... for the 'Jelly' Cupboard... but...it wasn't a Jelly Cupboard... it was an Old...Old...Stepback Cupboard...
The Auction had started...and there was no way I could put them together...so... I luckily was able to buy both pieces...and put them back together...
It's one of my Favorites...
It has Layers...and Layers...of old...peeling wallpaper...inside...I love that....
As I made a delivery...a couple days ago...I commented on a beautiful piece...my friend owns... and pointed out...a tiny heart.... that was carved into the piece...
She got a sour look on her face.... and said..."I hate Hearts..."....
It made me sad...
Guess...if you lived with them...in the 80's...and saw them...Everywhere...they are probably...a bit...dated... in your mind...
But....I told her... I Love Them...always....will...
reminds me of Dad...
and...they will always be a symbol of Love....
The Old Rosettes... from the Horse Bridles... always touch me...
Folks must have really loved their Horses...back in the day....
You could have bought plain, and simple ones.... but...a lot of Folks...had Hearts...embellishing...their Harness...
That...touches me... and I pick them up....when I can....
I have Folks...popping in, today...and somehow...I need to get done...what I couldn't...yesterday...
oh my...
Hope you..have a Most... Wonderful Day...
Love...to ya...
