Growing Money...

Peg was planting Lilies around the picket fence, in front of the Shop, and unearthed a dollar bill... That was pretty cool! I need to find the seeds that I planted there, last year... We could use a big crop, this year! Had lots of traffic yesterday... Bill and Cathie popped in, {this girls art} and it is always so nice to see them.... I wasn't much company, been down all week, with the 'plague'... I'm just coming out of it... sorta... I hate being sick, in the Spring... Made it all Winter, with no illness, now, I feel like I've been through a meat grinder... I keep my triple roll of t.p., at my side, and Peg just laughs.... Hey, it's much softer than Kleenex! I have had several calls from folks at 'Round Top, Texas'... Sounds like everyone is having a great time...Talked to Ed, from 'Leftover's', they are doing Fab! They always do... They have unusual stuff, and have great deals! They are truly the 'Antiquing Destination!', I have sent several folks their way, and have had a birds eye view, into the shows!
Peg has pulled the yard together, in Amazing fashion... She shoo's me away, and wants to be left alone... I really do think this is therapy for her... She digs in, like Mark does, while digging trough a box of vintage hardware, or me, crawling through an old barn, or an overstuffed attic... I love what she is doing, and will be anxious to see her new plantings come up, and surprise me... Peg thinks I hate yard work.... I don't... I really love planting things, and watching them grow.... But unless I work, or am on the road, I don't have money coming in.... A fabulous yard, comes with hours of work... hours I can't sacrifice... The Utilities don't care how beautiful my yard is, they just want a check... If I worked 7 to 4, and had weekends and Holidays off, I'd have time to pull weeds, those hours, are not my schedule... So, container gardening is what I love.... Plantings in Urns, feeders, and troughs... Or wispy Wild Flowers, that blend in with the weeds, that pop up, and give a natural look... I love a wild, and gnarly garden... a bit over grown, and unruly... No chemicals... if God wants Creeping Charlie, there shall be Creeping Charlie! The birds, bugs and worms, are thankful, and yes, even the weeds... I have Milk Weed that grows like crazy, around my shop... Everyone loves it... They don't know what it is.... We have weed blocked so many cool species, that folks don't recognize them, anymore... The butterflies, and the honey bees love them...
I am so thankful to Peg... She is amazing... Barb C.
